We have shortened the name of "VistaTask" to "vTask".  The reason for this is due to the many problems with customers not realizing our product is not just for Windows Vista.  We have been named "Vista" since 1996, and Microsoft's name choice has caused us endless headaches.

As many of you have seen, "Windows Vista" users frequently

, and more than one person has purchased our software, thinking they were getting Windows Vista.  The final straw came when a few recent tech reviews criticized the name (understandably) with the unpleasant terms "misleading" and "confusing".

Therefore, to avoid confusing our potential new customers, it has become necessary to change the name from "VistaTask" to "vTask Studio", and the new version 7.0 was the time to do it.  This change is costing thousands of dollars, including the loss of large investments in trademark registrations and marketing materials.  Maybe Microsoft will help with the expenses?....  uh maybe not.  This must be the punishment for picking a good name 10 years ago.

The product, licenses, and everything else, will of course remain the same.
